Interesting & Unique Facts: Bujold is a voracious reader. Her reading began with a passion for horse stories in grade school. She began reading adult science fiction when she was nine, a taste picked up from her father.

Bujold is best known for her series of novels featuring Miles Vorkosigan, a physically-impaired interstellar spy and mercenary admiral from the planet Barrayar, set approximately 1000 years in our future. Bujold has stated that the Miles Naismith Vorkosigan series structure is modeled after the Horatio Hornblower books documenting the life of a single person.

Bujold has also written two fantasy series, including the Chalion Universe series and The Sharing Knife series.

Bujold is tied with Robert Heinlein for winning the most Hugo Awards for best novel--a total of four. They are: The Vor Game, Barrayar , Mirror Dance, and Paladin of Souls.
