Interesting & Unique Facts: Austen's contemporaries included Williams Wordsworth and Lord Byron.
Three of Austen's influences were Samuel Johnson, William Cowper and Fanny Burney.

Her novels are comedies of manners, and Emma is often cited as her most perfect work by critics.

Austen only lived to be 41 and only completed 6 novels before she died. Persuasion was the last novel she wrote.
