Interesting & Unique Facts: Christie is the pen name of Agatha Mary Clarissa, Lady Mallowan. Christie also wrote romances under the name Mary Westmacott, but she is best remembered for her 80 detective novels and her successful West End theatre plays. Thanks to her extensive work, she is considered 'the Queen of Crime.' She is one of the most important and innovative writers in the field, and has contributed greatly to the development of the genre.

Christie is the best selling author of all time in any genre of writing. She is the best selling author in France with 40 million copies of her works sold.
